The Service is provided by Khalid Faris. When you use the Service or make a donation, you are entering into an agreement with Khalid Faris. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organisation. If you are an individual, you confirm that you are of legal age in your jurisdiction.

Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of these Terms and any updates we publish. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Service.

Becoming is a bilingual publication offering essays, reporting, and video in English and Arabic. We also allow readers to support our work through one-time and recurring (monthly) donations. Donations are voluntary contributions that support our editorial work; they do not purchase goods or grant any ownership, membership, or entitlement unless we expressly state otherwise.

You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you must not:

• use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive purpose;
• send spam or distribute malware, or attempt to probe, scan, or breach security;
• infringe the intellectual property or other rights of any party;
• scrape, harvest, or interfere with the operation or integrity of the Service.

All content, software, design, branding, and materials that make up the Service are owned by Khalid Faris or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and read the Service for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works without our prior written permission.

We aim to keep the Service available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Payment for donations is handled by our online reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle. For all matters relating to payment, billing, currency, taxes, cancellation of recurring donations, and refunds, the Paddle Checkout Buyer Terms apply. Monthly donations renew automatically until cancelled; you may cancel a recurring donation at any time, and cancellation stops future charges.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, where there is a material breach of these Terms, non-payment, a security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Khalid Faris shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where such exclusion is prohibited by law.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
